Inheritance tax is unfair: that appears to be the view of the vast majority of UK residents, according to a survey recently conducted from leading insurer, Friends Provident.
They've found that more than two-thirds of people feel that the tax is unfair. This is possibly unsurprising, given that UK house prices have been rising rapidly over the past few years, meaning that more and more people are liable to pay this form of taxation.
The threshold is currently set at £263,000 and it is estimated that more than two million homeowners in the UK have property that is worth more than this amount. It is likely that the majority of these homes will be in London and the South East of England, where prices are typically higher.
